To indicate which part to pick for an assembly, and to verify the pick is done
An EZ-LIGHT VTB Verification Touch Button is attached to each bin in an assembly station. Each VTB is interfaced with a process controller that is programmed with the correct assembly procedure.
The process controller prompts each VTB in turn, at the bin the assembler should pick next. The VTB’s translucent base glows bright green, signaling the assembler to take a part from the corresponding bin.
After removing the part, the operator inserts a finger into the VTB’s touch zone, extinguishing the light and signalling the process controller that the correct part has been taken. The process controller then lights the base of the VTB that corresponds to the next parts bin in the sequence.
Because the VTB is activated when the light beam across its touch zone is interrupted, it requires no force, reducing the risk of repetitive motion injury to the assembler.
