Pharmaceutical Insert Verification

Pharmaceutical box inserts need to be verified and identified before sealing the package in order to ensure accurate documentation is delivered to the customer.

In order to quickly and efficiently perform this inspection, the data matrix code on the documentation is read and verified prior to the final packaging process.

Description

An iVu BCR sensor is mounted 8-12 inches above a conveyor of boxed pill bottles containing a medical information insert. The iVu BCR reads a data matrix code on the insert to verify it matches the product on the packaging line.

When a box containing an incorrect insert or no insert at all moves passed the iVu BCR inspection area the iVu detects this fail condition and sends an output alarm to the production line.

iVu Bar Code Reader

The iVu BCR offers advanced bar code reading capabilities for advanced traceability in a compact, rugged package with integrated touch screen for easy setup and monitoring.
