Overview

5 to 15V dc supply voltage with a constant current output of 1 mA or less in the dark and 2 mA or less in the light condition
Intrinsically safe sensors with Q45 performance
Available in opposed, polarized and non-polarized retroreflective, convergent, diffuse, and glass or plastic fiber optic sensing modes
For use with approved switching amplifiers with intrinsically safe input circuits

Product Specifications

Supply Voltage	5 to 15V dc (provided by the amplifier to which the sensor is connected)
Range	Opposed:6 m Non-polarized Retroreflective:9 m, range is specified using one model BRT-3 retroreflector Polarized Retroreflective:6 m, range is specified using one model BRT-3 retroreflector Diffuse (short range):380 mm Diffuse (long range):1 m Convergent:38 or 100 mm, depending on model Glass Fiber Optic:Range varies by sensing mode and fiber optics used
Output	Constant current output:1 mA or less in the dark condition and 2.1 mA or less in the light condition
Output Response Time	Opposed Receiver:2 milliseconds ON; 400 microseconds OFF All others:5 milliseconds ON/OFF (does not include amplifier response)
Ajustments	Multi-turn sensitivity control on top of sensor, beneath a transparent o-ring sealed Lexan cover, allows precise sensitivity setting (turn clockwise to increase gain).
Indicators	Indicator LEDs are highly visible, located beneath a raised transparent Lexan dome on top of sensor. Emitters: Power (Red):lights whenever 5-15V dc power is applied All others: Signal (Red):lights whenever the sensor sees its modulated light source
Construction	Molded reinforced thermoplastic polyester housing, o-ring sealed transparent Lexan top cover, molded acrylic lenses and stainless-steel hardware. Q45s are designed to meet 1200 psi washdown. The base of cabled models has a 1/2 inch NPS integral internal conduit thread.
Environmental Rating	NEMA 6P; IEC IP67
Connections	PVC-jacketed 2-conductor 2 m or 9 m cables, or 4-pin Euro-style QD. QD cable are ordered separately.
Operating Conditions	Temperature:-40° C to + 70° C Relative humidity:90% @ 50° C (non-condensing)
Design Standards	Q45AD9 Series sensors comply with the following standards: DIN 19 234, EN 50 014: 1977, EN50 020: 2002
