Injection Mold Guarding

To provide point-of-operation guarding of an automated access door used to remove molded parts

A MICRO-SCREEN safety light screen guards the door of an injection molding machine. The door opens at the end of each molding cycle, so the machine operator can remove mixed parts before the next cycle.

To prevent injury, a new cycle cannot start if a hand or other object is blocking the light screen. If the light screen is interrupted while the door is closing, the door reverses direction, and the cycle is cancelled.
