WORLD BEAM® Q20 Fixed Field Sensors With Background Suppression Provide More Reliable Detection

MINNEAPOLIS — April 12, 2011 — Banner Engineering Corp. introduces the WORLD-BEAM® Q20FF fixed-field background suppression sensor to its line of compact photoelectric sensors. The Q20FF offers the same high performance standards as other Banner sensors, but has been enhanced with visible red, fixed field background suppression and a sensing range up to 6 inches (150 mm). With the enhancements, Banner has increased the number of applications the Q20 can solve in a variety of industries, such as material handling, robot assembly, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical goods.

"With the addition of the visible red fixed field background suppression models, Banner has expanded the number of applications the Q20 series can solve," said Dennis Smith, Technical Marketing Manager at Banner Engineering. "The high performance optical design of the fixed field Q20 series is evident in the small emitter beam and well focused optics which provide increased sensing range, out to 150 mm (6 inches) and greater immunity to objects beyond the fixed detection range. Combined with electronic immunity to fluorescent light sources, the Q20 fixed field sensors will result in more reliable and more stable detection in all applications."

The WORLD-BEAM Q20 product line is a complete offering of high performance sensors in rectangular housings. The Q20FF provides excellent optical performance in a world-wide standard sensor housing with 25.4 mm (1 inch) mounting hole spacing. Models are available with 2, 4, or 6 inch sensing ranges.

* Metallic M8 and M12 connectors on Quick Disconnect models with a threaded connection to the cord-set
