To prevent personnel from accessing a hazardous area
The optional muting feature on the PICO-GUARD controller with a Grid pair allows an automotive body to move into a robotic paint booth when the robot is stationary, then guards the entry and exit areas when the robot is working.
In addition, a pair of interlocking switches monitors the position of the swing gate, to reduce the chance of someone walking beside the car body during a mute cycle, thus removing a trapping hazard between the car body and the gate.
