To inspect the gum wedge of continuously extruded rubber
As rubber leaves an extruder, a belt conveys it under a PresencePLUS P4EDGE 1.3 vision sensor, which verifies that the edge of the wedge is beveled.
The use of a laser light at an angle to the line is critical to the inspection, because the light bends at the bevel, making three-dimensional measurement possible with an inexpensive two-dimensional vision sensor.
