Stamped Metal Gasket Inspection
It's important to inspect stamped gaskets as they're produced to check for accuracy and ensure the holes are stamped out correctly. Incorporating a non-contact inspection into the process decreases overall defects and increases downstream throughput.
Description
After all required holes are punched out of a gasket, it is moved to the inspection station. A PLC triggers the PresencePLUS Pro to start its inspection when the gasket is in the inspection zone.
Using multiple BLOB tools, the vision sensor counts and measures each hole. If any hole is missing or partially formed, the PresencePLUS Pro issues a failed inspection signal. The operator then removes the gasket and determines if it can be reworked.

Backlights |
A backlight provides even, low-intensity light. It is placed behind the target and aimed directly back towards the camera. The resulting silhouette can be inspected for proper size and shape. |
