Entry/Exit Guarding with Muting

In an environment with large machinery moving to assemble products, it's important to prevent personnel from accessing the hazardous area.

It's especially difficult to maintain the safe environment when working with combustible materials.

Description

Fiber optic safety solutions are ideal in an explosive-prone environment because their energy is limited and the controller is away from the hazardous area.

The optional muting feature on the PICO-GUARD controller with a Grid pair allows an automotive body to move into a robotic paint booth when the robot is stationary, then guards the entry and exit areas when the robot is working.

In addition, a pair of interlocking switches monitors the position of the swing gate, to reduce the chance of someone walking beside the car body during a mute cycle, thus removing a trapping hazard between the car body and the gate.
