To detect the location of an automated picking robot along a rack of storage bins in a warehouse
An automated picking robot moves horizontally and vertically along the racks in a warehouse, picking boxes. The robot uses two WORLD-BEAM QS30 laser sensors to determine its X,Y coordinates: one on the base of the robot detects each vertical support of the rack, and the other mounted on the robot's moving platform detects each horizontal support.
Based on the two sensors' outputs, a PLC calculates the robot's location so the robot can pick the correct box.
