Learn how to determine the sensor's response time.

Response Time > Repeatability
Reliability
The sensor's repeatability specification is based on the transition from dark to light, or the leading edge. Counting modulated pulses is not considered for each light-to-dark transition, or the trailing edge.

The sensor repeatability specified is a "worst case" value, which can be relied upon when evaluating high-speed applications where repeat accuracy is important.

Glossary Term
Repeatability:  A measure of the repeat accuracy of a sensor and/or timer and/or control mechanism. Usually expressed as a distance or time.  [ MORE » ]
