The response time specification helps determine how long a fast-moving object must stay in the sensor's field of view in order to be detected.

While not important in every application, response time becomes crucial when you have high speed events involving small objects and narrow gaps between objects.

Additionally, the repeatability specification which is a fraction of the response time, helps you fine-tune the accuracy of your application.
