Orientation: Low-resolution safety light screens should be positioned vertically to be able to detect a torso or an entire body.
Application: These systems are used when it is not necessary to detect a hand or an arm reaching towards the identified hazard. A low-resolution
safety light screen is usually a "multiple-beam" or "grid" system.
Separation Distance: A low-resolution optical safety systems cannot reliably detect the intrusion of a finger, hand or arm. Therefore a
Dpf equal to the length of an arm, normally 900-1200 mm, must be included in the
separation distance calculation.
Sensing Capability: Sensing capability for low-resolution guarding usually requires a minimum of two beams, but typically require three or four beams to minimize separation distance.
