Two-Hand Control Safety Systems > THC Basics
What Makes it Safe
Safety Module The safety module provides the functionality and monitoring of the two-hand control and the interfacing circuitry.

Location By placing the two-hand control at a safe distance from the machine, the operator’s hands are not in the hazardous area when machine operation begins.

Installation The two-hand control system occupies both the operator’s hands with machine start actuator buttons or hand controls. A two-hand control only protects the hands of the operator and is not an effective safeguard for others in the vicinity of the machine.

Defeat Resistance A two-hand control should not be easily defeated by motivated individuals. The use of only one hand or the use of simple aids (e.g. U-shaped metal bars) must be considered during machine design and installation.
