Condition Monitoring for Predictive and Preventive Maintenance
Machine vibration is often caused by imbalanced, misaligned, loose, or worn parts. As vibration increases, so can damage to the machine. By monitoring motors, pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, and gearboxes for increases in vibration, problems can be detected before they become too severe and cause additional damage or result in unplanned downtime.
A QM42VT Vibration and Temperature sensor paired with a Q45VT Wireless Sensor Node enables remote monitoring of machine health and can serve as a check engine light, notifying staff of changes in machine conditions. The sensor installs easily onto the machine using standard or magnetic brackets or even two-sided thermal transfer mounting tape. Using the default setting, the QM42VT will measure temperature and RMS velocity, which provides the most uniform measurement of vibration over a wide range of machine frequencies. The sensor first collects information to establish a baseline for machine performance. The operator then sets the initial thresholds at 1.5 to 2 times the baseline. A DXM100 Wireless Controller collects data sent by the Q45VT and will alert staff via email or text if thresholds are exceeded. The Q45VT has an onboard LED light which can provide local indication of an alert or a signal can be sent to a wireless TL70 tower light which will provide high-visibility indication of the change in status.
The QM42VT Vibration and Temperature Sensor makes it easy to monitor a machine's health. It measures RMS velocity and temperature so that problems can be detected before they become too severe and cause additional damage or result in unplanned downtime. Paired with a Banner wireless Node, it can provide local indication, wirelessly send the signal to a central location, and send the vibration and temperature data to the Gateway for collection and trending.Read More
