SD50 Status Display Series
Using easily configurable text and multicolor LEDs, the SD50 Status Display quickly and clearly communicates vital information where it’s needed most.
Watch this video to learn how to set up a configuration for the SD50 Status Display using the Discrete Control function.
This is a quick How-To video that will cover the basics of configuring the discrete mode for the SD50 Status Display from Banner Engineering.
Begin by connecting the SD50 to your Windows PC using the Pro Converter Cable Kit, and by following the diagram in the manual.
If you're having trouble connecting, check out our troubleshooting guide for the Banner Pro Editor software.
Once you have connected to the software, click the discrete control icon.
There are three options under the discrete section: basic, advanced, and I/O block.
For this example, we will select basic. Basic discrete control allows you to configure up to four states, each controlled by a different input wire.
Each state can be configured to show one of seven animations with 14 color options, as well as a unique line of text.
You can preview the selected settings by clicking the start button.
When you're finished selecting an animation and text for each state, click Write Device Settings to send the configuration to the SD50.
Additional formatting options are available in the Advanced Settings menu, including text color, text brightness, scroll direction, connector orientation, and more.
Click Write to send these settings to the SD50.
Advanced discrete control works similarly to basic mode, but it provides up to 15 unique states.
The extra states are controlled by combining multiple input wires.
If you are controlling the display with an I/O block, the I/O block discrete control mode hones the input options down to three states that are ready to be controlled by such a device.
That covers the basics of the SD50 discrete control mode.
