MQTT Tutorial - DXM to Ignition
Watch this video to learn how to connect Banner's DXM Controller to the Ignition platform using MQTT via Sparkplug B, as well as flat MQTT.
The IO-Link Master portfolio consists of compact smart controllers that consolidate, process, and distribute data from multiple sources. Communicating with up to eight different IO-Link devices (on select models), these IO-Link Masters convert signals to EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, and PROFINET, and can serve as a system gateway to the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
IO-Link Masters
Banner's IO-Link masters feature a compact, lightweight housing, which helps for weight-sensitive applications such as robotic end-of-arm tooling. The side-exit ports offer alternative mounting options compared to traditional top-exit blocks. Unique mounting brackets are available to stack multiple IO-Link masters in one area while minimizing the overall footprint.
If devices connected to the IO-Link masters need to be replaced due to damage or any other reason, the device can be swapped out with an identical part, and the IO-Link master will auto-recognize and rapidly configure the new sensor with the correct sensor settings for the application. Because IO-Link sensors do not require any special or complicated wiring, they can be connected to the new IO-Link masters using cost-effective industry standard unshielded three-wire M12 cables.
The DXMR190 Top Exit IO-Link Master also consolidates, processes, and distributes IO-Link and discrete data from multiple sources. Its built-in DXM controller supports ScriptBasic, MicroPython, and action rules, delivering more functionality than a typical IO-Link master by operating as a standalone logic controller or cost-efficient PLC replacement for simple applications. It communicates via EtherNet/IP™, Modbus®/TCP, and PROFINET®, and supports RESTful API, MQTT, Sparkplug B, and HTTPS for flexible cloud connectivity. The industry-standard top-exit design simplifies integration for OEM machine builders and system upgrades while maintaining a cost-efficient architecture.
The DXMR110-8K delivers eight IO-Link ports in a compact, lightweight housing. In addition to consolidating and distributing IO-Link signals, it offers advanced programmability to handle custom logic and edge processing directly within the device. With support for EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, and PROFINET, it provides broad compatibility with PLCs, controllers, and HMIs. Side-exit ports simplify cable routing and installation, making it a versatile choice for larger or more complex applications.
The DXMR90-4K provides four IO-Link ports and communicates via EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, and PROFINET. Its smaller footprint makes it well suited for mid-sized systems or installations where space is limited, while still offering full programmability to process and distribute IO-Link data efficiently.
The R45C-2K-MQ offers two IO-Link ports with Modbus RTU communication, providing a simple way to integrate IO-Link devices into control architectures. It delivers process and diagnostic data directly to PLCs or other Modbus controllers, making it ideal for smaller applications or installations where space and connectivity needs are limited.
The R90C-4K-MQ extends the capabilities of the R45C into a four-port format. With Modbus RTU connectivity, it connects multiple IO-Link devices such as sensors or indicator lights to PLCs and control systems. Its rugged housing and expanded capacity make it a scalable choice for larger applications requiring additional IO-Link integration.
