Challenge

One operator monitoring multiple automated assembly cells needs machine state, required action, and input confirmation available at each cell. Providing that interaction with dedicated indicator lights, labels, display devices, and pushbuttons inflates build cost, adds complexity, and creates more maintenance points.

Solution

An S100 Multi-Touch Display with discrete I/O is mounted on each assembly cell, consolidating status indication, short text instruction, and input confirmation in one low-profile interface. Using Pro Editor Software, the routine cell timing sequence is configured once, then loaded to each S100 so the same operator interaction is repeated consistently across every cell.

When a cell needs operator action, the S100 presents the task at the machine, accepts operator touch input to start the timing sequence, shows time as it elapses, and indicates when the part is complete.
