  1. The Q45 line of photoelectric sensors is now available in a D-cell battery version, extending its maintenance-free service interval to four years. This doubles the battery life of existing versions with smaller batteries. The Q45 sensor line is a family of wireless, self-contained units for coordinating multiple machines in part-counting, and OEE applications. Each model combines a sensor, wireless node, and an internal battery in a single device, making it easier to handle challenging factory applications or add sensing to existing industrial systems. The devices allow facilities to easily add a scalable wireless-sensor network without adding cables.

  2. Banner’s new SI-GL42 safety locking switch is designed to be rugged, with metal components to stand up to mechanical stress. The SI-GL42’s ease of installation makes it a cost-effective and versatile solution with numerous options for customization. These switches can be used to enable a machine process when safety guards are closed and interlocked, disable a process when the guards are opened, and monitor the position of guards and interlocks. The failsafe guard-locking function ensures that the guards remain locked until a machine’s hazardous motion has come to a complete stop.

  3. Banner now offers variations of its popular Emergency Stop controls with a durable protective shroud. The shroud has a sturdy one-piece design that ensures safe and consistent operation for the long term. It prevents accidental user actuation of the E-Stop button, but it does not impede easy access for regular, intentional interaction. The 30 mm and flush-mount E-Stops ship with a pre-installed shroud, and panel-mount E-Stop kits are shipped with a shroud attachment. The shrouded designs are available for both non-illuminated E-Stop models and also those featuring Banner’s industry-exclusive bright 360-degree illumination. (Banner can add shrouds to other models of E-Stops upon request.) Shrouded E-Stops are adaptable to a wide variety of automated systems, but they are particularly well suited for material-handling conveyor lines, CPG packaging lines, and automotive assembly lines.

  5. The Pro series now offers a 50 mm programmable multicolor RGB device with optical sensor. It is programmable using Banner’s Pro Editor software and Pro Converter Cable. The K50 Pro Optical offers up to fourteen default colors with flash input in one unit. K50 devices are completely self-contained; no controller is needed. It is rated IEC IP67 and IP69K and features 12 V dc to 30 V dc operation. K50 Pro Optical is immune to ambient light, EMI, and RFI interference.

  6. The Q4X600 high resolution models are now available with analog output and even higher excess gain to solve more applications. This versatile, rugged laser measurement sensor is available in barrel or flush mount housing. It builds upon the success of the Q4X with even higher performance and detection capabilities.

  7. Banner is expanding its offering of the WLS15 Series to include programmable models with RGB LEDs for use in advanced indication applications. These new models will be programmable with Banner’s Pro Editor software, IO-Link communication, or serial Pick-IQ® communication.

  8. Two additional Wireless Q45 models are now available, broadening the family of sensors compatible with Banner’s wireless network. A current transformer and a dual temperature probe expand the Q45 family and monitor a new class of applications. Each Q45 sensor includes Banner’s reliable, field-proven wireless architecture, eliminating the need to order multiple components.

  9. Banner’s new SmartSolutions Expansion Kit is a predictive maintenance solution that allows asset and process managers to expand their monitoring systems by adding up to 40 sensors that gather more data from any point in production.

  10. The K70 Wireless Touch Button combines the best of Banner’s popular touch button family with its reliable, field-proven, wireless architecture. This self-contained, battery-powered touch button can be remotely controlled, giving users a fully wireless solution. It features four colored LEDs—red, green, yellow, and blue—with additional colors through blending—magenta, cyan, and white.

  11. The new line-powered Direct Select™ Wireless Operator Interface expands Banner’s existing Direct Select product family and adds additional flexibility for solving even the most complex applications. The line-powered Direct Select can reduce system maintenance by eliminating battery changes when line power is readily available. This also removes worry of unplanned downtime due to battery failures. The wireless operator interface provides two-way communication and operator guidance, letting users send and receive information, direct actions, track performance, and monitor equipment. The Direct Select is an ideal fit for call-for-parts applications, and it is the heart of Banner’s Call-for-Parts Solution Kit.

  12. VE Smart Camera offers expanded capabilities for its global customers. Vision Manager Software is now available in multiple languages: English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, German, Italian, French, and Turkish. Additional language support makes it easier to program and install in native languages.

  13. Representing analog measurements digitally just got easier with the new S15C Analog to Pulse Pro converters from Banner. These converters are small, plug-on accessories that are designed to connect directly to a sensor or indicator and begin operating immediately, fitting seamlessly into your factory applications to convert analog sources into PFM or PWM signals.

  14. The newest model of the DXM1200 series wireless controllers maintain the same programming and logic capabilities of their predecessors while increasing installation flexibility. Now offered with an external antenna, the DXM1200E improves wireless range and gives the ability to extend the antenna to the ideal location for tough to reach wireless devices. Additionally, it features an industrial M12 D-Code ethernet connection and two courtesy Modbus RTU ports for easy connection of sensors located nearby the DXM1200E.

  15. The Pro Series programmable multicolor LED devices from Banner Engineering offer limitless possibilities for advanced indication of dynamic machine states, operator interaction, and process statuses. The Pro Series product line has expanded to include two new devices. The K50 Pro Beacon is programmable using Banner's Pro Editor Software, IO-Link communication, or PICK-IQ®. The K90 Pro Indicator is programmable with Pro Editor or IO-Link communication.

  16. The SX5 Series of Safety Laser Scanners has expanded with master and remote models to provide advanced features for enhanced personnel and equipment protection. A field-replaceable window and removable memory offer fast scanner replacement. The SX5 offers dynamic and partial muting to mute all or part of a safety zone while protecting the remainder of the zone. It also features selectable scan codes to eliminate scanner interference.

  18. The T30R radar sensor is a longer-range alternative to ultrasonic sensors that provides more reliable detection and position feedback in extreme outdoor conditions and other challenging environments. It features a shorter dead zone, better accuracy, and the ability to see a wider range of targets than traditional 24 GHz radar sensors.

  19. The Wireless Call for Parts Kit is a productivity solution that reduces communication inefficiencies and increases process speeds using wireless touch buttons and operator interfaces. This solution allows for up to 35 workstations to call out to 12 forklifts/mobile responders using wireless K70 Touch Buttons, a DXM700 wireless controller, and wireless Direct Select Operator Interfaces.

  20. ABR Series barcode readers can now be used to solve even more track and trace applications. New to the series are 2 MP ABR 7000 models offering increased resolution to read smaller codes, read over a larger target area, or at greater distances.

Its touch device interface and visual status indication make the LC15T an easy-to-use, operator-centric controller.

  30. Banner has expanded its WLS15 Series of cost-effective LED strip lights to include high-intensity models. These models feature the same sturdy aluminum inner frame and shatter resistant, UV-stabilized, polycarbonate shell as other strip lights in the WLS Series, but offer more than twice the lumens per foot of standard WLS15 LED strip lights. They are available in cascadable and stand-alone models and come in lengths ranging from 360 mm to 1200 mm.

  31. The Q5X Series has expanded from a 2 m triangulation sensor to include a time-of-flight sensor with an extended sensing range and an application-specific jam detection model to reliably detect jams on conveyor lines.

  32. The Q76 is a wide beam retroreflective sensor that detects the leading edge of challenging, non-uniform targets. Easy to setup and use, the Q76 has a visible red beam to simplify alignment and two bright, multifunction LED lights for status indication. With a range of up to 4 meters, the Q76 provides users with tremendous flexibility.

With 14 colors in a single segment and a range of unique animations, users can easily create custom displays to clearly communicate almost any condition.

  38. Banner’s Through-the-Roller sensor bar provides reliable detection with reduced installation time and cost. It reliably detects very thin or irregular objects from between the conveyor rollers. The TTR features quick installation of up to seven diffuse sensors spaced across the conveyor width.

  39. Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) is a way to digitally represent an analog measurement value from a sensor. Banner Engineering’s Pulse Pro I/O technology simplifies the connection between the sensor and an indicator or controller. Banner’s WLS70 is a very bright LED luminaire that features an even light output and is designed for a wide variety of environments and applications, such as machine lighting, automation systems, inspection, and parking garage.
