Watch this video to learn about the features and benefits of this robust, versatile, and intuitive radar sensor.
When dependable sensing is required in challenging environments, radar technology achieves superior and consistent results.
Unlock robust performance with Banner Engineering's new Q90R series radar sensors.
The Q90R family is robust: It has an IP69K rating, operates from negative forty to sixty-five degrees Celsius, and has a durable, powder coated aluminum housing.
It’s versatile: The Q90R provides reliable detection across a broad vertical and horizontal field of view, while featuring an extended range and immunity to cross talk and environmental conditions.
It’s intuitive: Software configuration and IO-Link communication, along with bright LED indication, enable streamlined integration and troubleshooting.
Additionally, the Q90R2 features an optimized field of view, with features useful for advanced applications.
First, the Q90R2’s 120-degree by forty-degree field of view is highly configurable and enables precision positioning and control.
Second, the Q90R2 provides additional feedback on targets, including radial distance, angular position, and target velocity.
And third, our user-friendly drag-and-drop software can manipulate the Q90R2's overall coverage area into independent detection zones, configurable as angular or rectangular windows.
Now let’s look at some use cases where the Q90R Series excels.
The Q90R family is a flexible option for vehicle monitoring at loading docks.
When there are no overhead mounting locations, or when horizontal line-of-sight options are obstructed, the Q90R can be placed at nearly any angle while ensuring consistent detection.
Or, when there are two nearby applications to be monitored, consider installing a single Q90R2. With its wide 120-degree field of view, the Q90R2 can be configured to monitor each dock bay as its own individual zone.
The Q90R series can be used in multiple configurations for onboard vehicle use, such as forklift speed controls.
First, use the Q90R2 as a collision avoidance solution. Configure the multiple zones at different distances so that the closer the hazard, the greater speed restrictions are applied.
The field of view can be optimized based on equipment requirements.
Or, mount the Q90R facing upward for indoor speed restrictions.
Now when outdoors and unobstructed, the sensor permits the forklift to operate at full speed; but when it’s indoors and detects abundant obstructions, the forklift’s speeds can be restricted to an indoor-safe level.
So when you need a versatile sensing method that will work in any environment, look to the Q90R Series radar sensors from Banner Engineering.
