Simplify Conveyor Zone Control Right Out of the Box

Bring simple, hassle-free zone logic control to conveyors with Banner’s R50 Zero Pressure Accumulation Control Module. This control module is compatible with any conveyor zone drive such as a motor roller, gear motor, air clutch, and other types that use 24 V DC discrete signals to start and stop the conveyor zone, regardless of the brand. Two operational modes are available: Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) and Slug Release. ZPA uses sensors to create independent zones that maintain gaps between products for gentle handling, objects of mixed sizes, and smooth merging. Slug Release ignores logic from the sensors, releasing all zones simultaneously to maximize throughput and quickly clear long upstream buffers. The operating mode is selected by driving pin 2 for Slug Release or pin 4 for ZPA.

The plug-and-play design requires no configuration and is ready to run right away, saving time during commissioning. During deployment, standard 4-pin M12 connections install faster and easier than flying leads. The compact 50 millimeter size fits into tight spaces along conveyor frames, helping keep connectivity neat where real estate is at a premium. LEDs on both sides of the block provide quick, clear diagnostics, allowing the block to be mounted in either direction. Additionally, the fully sealed housing allows the R50 ZPA Control Module to be deployed in many different environments.

Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) Mode

In ZPA mode, each zone is operates independently to maintain gaps between products. A discrete signal from a sensor tells the first zone when to move. After the sensor is clear, the zone behind it is allowed to move. Then other upstream zones move in turn.

Constant Flow

Slug Release Mode

In Slug Release mode, zones are released simultaneously to create a continuous flow of product. A discrete signal from a sensor tells the first zone when to move and sensor zone control logic is ignored
