    This video is designed to help walk you through the steps in the Q4X Demo Kit.

     

    Prepare the Demo

    Press and hold MODE for two or more seconds.

    Press the + button nine times until RESET appears, then press SELECT.

    Press the - button, YES will appear, then press SELECT.

    The display flashes and returns to run mode.

     

    Demo 1: Two Point Teach

    The display shows the current distance.

    Press and hold TEACH for two or more seconds.

    Present Black Plastic and press SELECT.

    Now present Black Foam and press SELECT.

    The display flashes and returns to run mode.

    The foam is now detected but not the background.

     

    Shift the Sensor's Zero Point to the Taught Distance

    The current distance is 55 mm.

    Press and hold MODE for two or more seconds.

    Press the + button four times until ZERO appears, then press SELECT.

    Press the + button, FAR appears, then press SELECT.

    Now press the + button, SHIFT appears, then press SELECT.

    Press the + button, ON will appear, then press SELECT

    Press the + button three times to get to END, then press SELECT.

    After switching the zero reference point, the distance from the target to the sensor is now 245 mm, which is 300 minus the previous measured distance of 55 mm.

     

    Demo 2: Background Suppression

    Press and hold MODE for two or more seconds.

    Press SELECT, then the + or - button until bGS appears.

    Now press and hold SELECT for two or more seconds. The display flashes and returns to run mode.

    Remove the target piece.

    Press and hold TEACH for two or more seconds.

    Press TEACH again. The aluminum base is now the zero point.

    The sensor now detects any part of the target but not the aluminum base.

    Now align the beam on the black plastic and press the + button until the output indicator LED turns off.

    The sensor is now off for the base and target piece, but on for the foam.
