Welcome to a short how-to video that'll cover the basics of setting up the Q5X Dual Mode configuration from Banner Engineering.
Dual mode looks for a change in distance or intensity from a static reference point.
To put the sensor into dual mode, press and hold the 'minus' button for more than two seconds. Press the plus button once and you'll see Teach 1 on the screen.
Press the middle button to select, and then toggle either the 'plus' or 'minus' button until you see Dual on the display.
Next, hold the middle button for more than two seconds to confirm the selection.
You will see 999P on the screen. This means that the sensor still needs to be taught.
To teach the sensor, present a static reference point that the sensor will be pointed towards at all times.
The reference point does not have to be within the sensor's range.
Press and hold the middle button for more than two seconds, and you'll see Set On displayed on the screen.
Press the middle button again to teach the Sensor. 50P will flash on the screen, then it'll return to Run mode and 100P will be displayed.
P stands for 'percentage', so 100P means a sensor sees something that is 100% the same as the top condition.
In this case, if a change is greater than 50%, the output will switch.
To change the switch point threshold, tap either the 'plus' or 'minus' button once, and then press or hold either button to toggle the threshold up or down to the desired number.
That covers the basics of the Q5X Dual Mode configuration.
