Flat, Reliable Sensing for Tight Spaces

Banner’s Q2F Flat Pack Photoelectric Sensor delivers fixed-field performance in a flat, low-profile housing designed for space-constrained and embedded installations where traditional housings will not fit. With sharp cutoff distances of 10, 15, 30, and 45 millimeters, the Q2F provides stable detection in tight zones near rails, brackets, and fixture surfaces while maintaining reliable, consistent performance across varying colors and surface finishes, including dark and low-reflectivity targets. It also reliably detects submillimeter targets for presence/absence verification of tiny features and small components close to backgrounds.

The Q2F includes a mounting bracket with M2 and M3 mounting options, and is available with M8, M12, or flying-lead connections to simplify installation and integration while supporting consistent mounting and faster replacement. The cost-efficient design reduces barriers to standardizing sensors across machines and in fixtures, particularly in builds that require multiple sensing points. Single-sided sensing eliminates separate receivers or reflectors, and crosstalk immunity plus ambient/fluorescent light immunity support reliable operation in high-density sensor installations.

The Q2F’s fast 850 microsecond response enables detection of fast-moving parts, including leading edges. A visible red emitter and on-device power/status LEDs simplify alignment and speed troubleshooting, while flexible cable routing supports tight bends for compact builds and moving tooling with less strain at the sensor exit. An IP65 rating supports use across more industrial applications where dust and occasional splashing are present.
