Q5X 2-Point Teach Configuration

Welcome to a short how-to video that'll cover the basics of setting up the Q5X 2-Point Teach configuration from Banner Engineering.

For this demonstration, we are going to first be setting the sensor back to factory default.

Press and hold the 'minus' button for more than two seconds to access the menu.

Press the 'minus' button once, and the display will read 'Reset'.

Hit the middle button once, and then hit either the 'plus' or 'minus' button to toggle to 'Yes'.

Hit the middle button again to confirm. The sensor will reset and return to Run mode.

The default teach mode after resetting the sensor is 2-Point Teach.

To put the sensor into teach mode, press and hold the middle button for two or more seconds.

The sensor will begin to flash 'Set First'. Present the first target condition, and then press the middle button.

The screen will now flash 'Set Second'. Present the second target condition and press the middle button.

A number will flash on the display, showing the top switch point and then return to Run mode.

The switch point will automatically be set halfway between the two taught conditions.

In this teach mode, we can also do a two-point background suppression by teaching the same point twice.

The sensor will recognize that two of the same point have been taught, and will set the switch point just in front of the top condition.
