Compact IO-Link Master Provides IIoT Connectivity with Ethernet and PROFINET
Banner’s DXMR90-4K collects real-time factory data from IO-Link connections
MINNEAPOLIS —
Industrial automation manufacturer, Banner Engineering, has introduced the DXMR90-4K IO-Link Master, now available globally. This small-form-factor, stackable controller device collects data from any factory sensors or machines that transmit signals using IO-Link.
The DXMR90-4K receives IO-Link signals from four available M12 ports and outputs a consolidated data stream directly to cloud platforms, PLCs, SCADA systems, or HMIs. This process and diagnostic data can be transmitted via Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP/IP, and PROFINET.
This IO-Link Master is a part of Banner’s Snap Signal™ smart-factory series, designed to provide manufacturers with an easy way to capture comprehensive intelligence about their equipment and processes. Manufacturers can use these products to leverage the competitive advantages of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Snap Signal is designed to be a cost-effective, brand-agnostic, and scalable modular solution. It functions as an overlay network that can collect signal data from existing industrial sensors and machines without interrupting their operation. Converters, adapters, or filters are available to accommodate nearly any type of signal and route it to a controller.
When manufacturers connect devices to a DXMR90-4K, they can use collected machine data for many industrial applications, such as condition monitoring, data analytics and performance metrics, predictive maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting, lean manufacturing, and OEE analysis and tracking. The data can also be used to pinpoint opportunities for system improvements that can further reduce downtime and increase overall productivity.
