Featuring a forty-five-by-forty-five-degree beam with up to two meters of range, the K50Z provides reliable detection across a large area.
Introducing the K50Z Multipoint sensor from Banner Engineering.
Featuring a forty-five-by-forty-five-degree beam with up to two meters of range, the K50Z provides reliable detection across a large area.
The K50Z has sixty-four unique detection points arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. With measuring modes including nearest distance and average distance, it is ideal for fill applications or area detection.
Use Banner’s GUI software to configure the K50Z’s two independent outputs. This fast and easy setup includes drag and drop zone selection, visualized thresholds, and more.
When monitoring fill applications, single-point sensors may miss buildups or low spots, inaccurately capturing fill levels and resulting in over or under reporting.
With its wide area of detection, the K50Z can accurately account for peaks and valleys of the fill material.
The sensor can be configured to measure average-distance of the target area or report the nearest-distance from the sensor to the target.
The K50Z can also be configured to independently monitor different areas in the field of view. materials tend to fill unevenly, such as an accumulation point that might build up faster than the rest of the bin. This way you can be alerted before overfilling can occur.
Or, when there are multiple nearby applications that need to be monitored, consider installing a single K50Z.
Typically, a warehouse would need to deploy an overhead sensor for each bin; by setting up independently configured zones for each bin, both outputs can be sent back to a PLC where fill levels can be displayed.
The K50Z also features PFM outputs, allowing you to directly connect the K50Z to Banner lights. This allows for fill level visual indication without the need for PLC integration.
Finally, consider using the K50Z for object detection where presentation of the target may not be consistent, such as object detection on a table.
The target object’s orientation or position is of no consequence to the K50Z; only the target’s presence within the field of view is needed.
So if you need a wide-area multipoint sensor, look to the K50Z, available only from Banner Engineering.
