For security reasons, the entrance to a gated community is controlled by either a security guard or an unmanned system. Typically unmanned systems require an authorized code or a handheld remote to open the gate. When exiting the gated community, however, an automatically opening gate is typically used. Many of these communities are reluctant to install or maintain systems that damage large portions of the brick or stonework installed near the exit.


Traditional wired inductive loop vehicle detection systems require large sections of pavement or brickwork to be damaged and removed for installation and repairs.

To avoid damaging pavement, use Banner’s wireless M-GAGE sensor Node, which requires only a 6.35 cm (2.5 inch) diameter hole for burial installations. The sensitivity of the M-GAGE vehicle sensor can be configured to detect most passenger vehicles within range of the embedded sensor.

The Node and M-GAGE sensor are powered by a battery integrated into the compact housing, offering up to five years of battery life. The Gateway, or wireless network controller, can be installed in a centralized control facility up to 1000 feet away.
