Welcome to a short how-to video that will cover the dynamic teach mode for the QS18 Expert Photoelectric Sensors from Banner Engineering.
The dynamic teach mode takes multiple returned light measurements and automatically sets an optimal switching threshold, based on the lightest and darkest conditions of the application.
To begin, press and hold the pushbutton for more than four seconds, until the green power LED turns off and the amber output LED flashes twice per second.
While continuing to hold the button, present multiple on and off conditions to the sensor.
When you have finished presenting these conditions, release the pushbutton.
The power LED will flash three times and turn on solid, indicating that the sensor has been taught successfully.
If you need to flip the output condition, press the button seven times consecutively.
That covers the basics for using the dynamic teach mode for the QS18 Expert Sensors.
