Compact Plug-and-Play Motor Driven Roller Control
R50C Motor-Driven Roller Controller
The R50C MDR Controller helps keep control of conveyors and other equipment in one system and gives system designers more efficient control of motor driven rollers using a PLC and Modbus® communication. Two configurable I/O channels and a 0–18 volt output provide precision MDR control. Standard A-coded M12 connectors for signal and L-coded M12 connectors for daisy chaining motor power simplify installation of multiple motor driven roller controllers on a conveyor.
- Easily control motor driven rollers from a PLC using Modbus communication
- Simple system integration via direct connection to PLCs using Modbus RTU, or through DXM gateways using common Ethernet protocols, keeps control of conveyors and other equipment in one system
- Two discrete channels can be configured as inputs or outputs to control start/stop, direction, or define error conditions
- 0–18 volt analog output provides precise speed control for both regular and high-speed motor-driven roller systems
- Modbus RTU communication allows full speed control via the PLC, which static DIP switches commonly found on other MDR controllers cannot
- Simplify installation of multiple R50Cs on a conveyor using standard A-coded M12 connectors for signals and L-coded M12 connectors for daisy chaining up to 16 amps of motor power
- All connections use compact, sealed, industry-standard M12 connectors
- L-coded M12 pass-through connections handle up to 16 amps of power that can be shared among all controllers in series to satisfy higher-current demands of motor-driven rollers
- L-coded M12 connections use 40 percent less space but carry up to 80 percent more power than traditional 7/8-inch connectors, allowing longer daisy chains that reduce wiring and installation time
- Motor power and device controls are on separate circuits, maintaining communication with the R50C while a connected safety controller can cut power in stop conditions
- Can be used in refrigerated, wet, and other challenging environments with IP67-rated fully sealed housing and -40° C to 70° C operating range without an additional protective enclosure
- Monitor status and troubleshoot with ease via LED indicators
- Create a complete conveyor control system by easily integrating photoelectric sensors, which detect the leading edge of a package and enable zone control
- Compatible with many types of MDRs with integrated control designs; see product manual for a detailed list of compatible MDR manufacturers’ products
