Large, cumbersome shipping containers can block rubber tire gantry crane operators’ view of obstacles on the ground. A reliable sensing solution is needed to detect obstructions in their path and avoid collisions, key to preventing costly damage and downtime.
Solution
The Q90R2’s radar technology is resistant to ambient weather and lighting conditions, enabling dependable sensing performance in demanding outdoor port environments across a wide temperature range of -40 °C to +65 °C. Its easily configured field of view allows sensors mounted at each corner of the RTG to reliably detect obstacles within the path of travel, ensuring that control station operators are promptly notified of potential hazards.
