WLF12 Pro Strip Light with Pro-Editor Controller

This is a short how-to video that will cover the basics of using the Pro-Editor software to set up a WLF12 Strip Light from Banner Engineering.

The first step to setting up the strip light is to connect the controller to a Windows PC using the Pro-Editor cable kit and by following the diagram in the Pro-Editor datasheet.

The WLF12 series requires a controller to program and operate in order to use the Pro-Editor software.

You will need a Pro-compatible controller. Note that you can program the controller with or without the strip light connected.

Plug the Pro-Editor cable into a USB port on your Windows PC and click 'Connect'.

Choose an application mode that best fits your needs and configure the light using any of the 15 customizable animations and 19 color options.

To save the configuration, click the 'Write' button.

If you need to trim the light to length, it's important to teach the light to the appropriate number of segments.

A segment is defined by the portion of the light between termination points, which is where any cut must be made.

There are three LEDs to each segment. There are two methods to teaching the length of the strip light to the controller: auto teach and manual teach.

If you are programing the controller without the strip light attached, programing prior to trimming the strip light, or just want to utilize a smaller portion of the strip light, you can manually enter the number of segments required and click 'Manual Teach'.

If you have already trimmed the light, you can automatically detect the number of available segments by connecting the strip light to the controller and clicking 'Auto Teach'.
