Welcome to a short how-to video that will cover the basics of setting up the DF-G Fiber Optic Amplifier 2-Point Teach Configuration from Banner Engineering.
For this demonstration, we will begin by setting the amplifier back to factory default.
Move the mode switch to 'PRG' to access the Program Mode menu.
Use the rocker button to toggle between options until you see the 'Factory Default' option, and press down on the button.
Move the rocker button until it says 'Yes', and press down on the button again.
The display will flash to confirm that the amplifier has been reset, and return to the main menu.
The default teach mode after resetting the amplifier is 2-Point Teach.
To teach the amplifier, move the mode switch to 'ADJ' to access the Adjust mode.
Present the first target condition to the fiber optic sensor head.
The display will show the current excess gain reading in red, and the current switching threshold in green.
Press down on the rocker button to begin the teach the first condition.
The display will momentarily show 2-Point Teach, followed by 2nd.
Present the second target condition and press the rocker button again.
The display will show 'Pass', indicating that the new conditions have been taught successfully.
The display will now show the new switching threshold in green, which is set halfway between the two taught conditions.
If you need to manually adjust this threshhold, use the rocker button to increase or decrease the value.
After selecting a value, leave the rocker button alone for two seconds, and the display will flash to confirm the new set value.
Move the mode switch back to 'Run' to lock in the amplifier settings.
