R55 Expert Series

Product image

Overview

  • Detects the most difficult color mark contrasts, including 20% yellow on white
  • Tolerates a ±3 mm shift from the 10 mm focal point to accommodate web flutter and similar variations in target location
  • Provides a sensing image that measures 1.2 x 3.8 mm at 10 mm from the lens
  • Detects very small and inconspicuous color marks with a small sensing image and fast 50 microsecond response time
  • Offers choice of models with a visible green, blue or white LED
  • Features push-button programming for easy-to-set static, dynamic, single-point and remote TEACH
  • Uses push-button manual sensitivity adjustment
  • Provides 10 to 30V dc supply voltage with bipolar NPN or PNP outputs
  • Includes a 0-10 mA analog output for indication of signal strength
  • Features two lens positions and a choice of sensing image orientations

ConstructionHousing:zinc alloy diecast with black acrylic polyurethane finish
Cover:steel with black acrylic polyurethane finish
Lens and light bar display window:acrylic (glass optional)
Lens port cap and lens holder:ABS
Environmental RatingIP67; NEMA 6
Connections2 m or 9 m 6-wire attached PVC cable with strain relief, or 6-pin Euro-style quick-disconnect fitting. QD cable are ordered separately.
Operating ConditionsTemperature:-10 to +55° C
Relative humidity:90% @ 50° C (non-condensing)
Vibration and Mechanical ShockAll models meet IEC 68-2-6 and IEC 68-2-27 testing criteria
Application Notes• Do not mount the sensor directly perpendicular to shiny surfaces; position it at approximately a 15° angle in relation to the sensing target.

• Minimize web or product flutter whenever possible to maximize sensing reliability.

• The analog output is proportional to the received light signal. The analog output is unaffected by + or - manual sensitivity adjustments.
