This is a short how-to video that will cover the basics of mounting and aligning the S4B Heavy-Duty Type 4 Safety Light Curtain from Banner Engineering.
For mounting the curtains, there are two types of brackets available: end-mount brackets and side-mount brackets.
When using end-mount brackets, you will need to install the provided spacers onto each end of the curtain component.
Once you have determined the Z-axis height, install the bottom bracket to the mounting surface, and place the curtain component on it.
Next, attach the top bracket to the top spacer with one screw going through the center hole of the bracket, and another going through an adjacent adjustable hole.
Tighten the screws just enough to hold the curtain in place, while still allowing it to rotate.
Fasten the top bracket to the mounting surface.
The side-mount brackets allow more flexibility, including with the Z-axis height.
Once they are installed on the mounting surface, place the curtain component in the open slots, and tighten the pre-installed screws enough to hold the curtain in place while allowing it to rotate.
Note that the Z-axis height on both curtain components must match before moving on to the next alignment step.
To align the curtain, rotate each component one at a time until they are facing each other.
The receiver has three LED indicators to inform you of the alignment status.
A red LED indicates that one or more beams in the zone are not being received.
Yellow indicates that the zone is receiving marginal light from the emitter.
Green indicates that the zone is receiving reliable excess gain from the emitter.
Continue rotating the components in small increments until all of the alignment indicators are green.
Tighten down all of the brackets screws to secure the curtain's alignment.
That covers the basics for mounting and aligning the S4B Safety Light Curtain.
