Sorter Bin and Pallet Tracking
Challenge
Items sorted into incorrect containers, or containers delivered to the wrong staging or dock doors, lead to misplaced goods and shipment errors. When mistakes are discovered, identifying points in the process that need to be improved is time-consuming and imprecise.
Solution
HF RFID Read/Write Heads mounted at sorter discharge points and dock/staging areas capture data from HF RFID tags on bins, carts, and pallets. At the sorter, read/write heads record which container receives each item, creating a real-time data trail as goods are sorted. As containers move to staging or dock doors, read/write heads capture the data of each RFID tag on arrival and departure, ensuring the right load is in the right place, preventing mis-ships, and speeding dock loading without manual scans.
