Hot Part Detection in Food Preparation
Challenge
Temperature regulation is an important aspect of many processes within the factory--especially in food manufacturing facilities. In this case, it's imperative for the waffle iron to be hot before the batter is poured into it or the result will be an inconsistently prepared product.
Solution
To ensure that a griddle is on, non-contact T-GAGE M18T temperature sensors are aimed at the cooking surface to detect that the surface is hotter than the surrounding air.
If the waffle iron is hot, the batter will be poured in and the process will continue. If it is not hot enough, the T-GAGE temperature sensor output won't trigger the batter release mechanism allowing the iron additional time to heat.
