Dual-Operator Robotic Workstation
Challenge
Some large robotic work cells are designed with two operator stations to reduce downtime related to feeding and removing product. This setup often requires excessive cabling and hardware for proper installation which is costly, confusing to troubleshoot, and takes considerable time to install.
Solution
The cascading functionality available on Banner’s EZ-SCREEN LS Heavy-Duty Type 4 Safety Light Curtains can safeguard multiple access points to a hazard. Not only does this simplify installation by minimizing the wiring needed to connect light curtains to a controller, but the auto cascade feature in the LS goes a step further to facilitate setup and installation without using DIP switches, automatically recognizing the next light curtain as it is connected. The minimal response time impact when cascaded allows the EZ-SCREEN LS to be installed closer to the equipment being guarded, making more efficient use of valuable floor space.
Additionally, intuitive, highly-visible bi-color alignment indicators are built into the entire length of the receiver window to aid in initial setup and future maintenance. Multiple mounting options and optional mute arm kits give the EZ-SCREEN LS enhanced flexibility for installation and operation.
